10/26/2013 - ANIMAL CRUELTY - PASO ROBLES, CA

On Saturday, October 26, 2013 at approximately 8:05AM the Paso Robles Police Department received a report of animal cruelty at the agriculture barn at the Paso Robles High School.

The reporting party stated his juvenile son is a student at the high school and member of the National FFA Organization (formerly the Future Farmers of America).  As part of this program, his son houses his 5 month old steer at the agriculture barn.  The reporting party went to the barn to feed the animal and found that it had been burned.  The animal suffered significant burn injuries but is expected to survive.

It appears that the unknown suspect(s) entered the barn sometime between 4:30PM on Friday, October 25th and 8:00AM on the 26th and set fire to the animal for unknown reasons.

Officers located evidence at the scene which is being analyzed as part of this investigation.  Personnel from the SLO County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crimes Unit and SLO County Division of Animal Services, along with staff from the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, assisted with this investigation. 

The PRPD is seeking assistance from the public to help solve this crime. SANCHEZ HOMICIDE UPDATE: SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED

 

Friday, July 19, 2013     

 

The Paso Robles Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance locating three individuals identified as suspects in the March 23, 2013 murder of Victor Hugo Sanchez.  PRPD and SLO County District Attorney Investigators have identified:

 

Edgar Ontiveros, A.K.A “Huero”

DOB: 03/09/1995

Hispanic Male Adult

Height: 5’08”  Weight: 140lbs.

Last Known Location:  Modesto, CA

 

Alejandro Anguiano, A.K.A “Barbujas”

DOB: 05/13/1994

Hispanic Male Adult

Height: 5’08”  Weight: 150lbs.

Last Known Location:  Modesto, CA

 

Louis Henry Madrigal, A.K.A. “Cuates” or “Flaco”

DOB: 01/19/1994

Hispanic Male Adult

Height: 5’05”  Weight: 140lbs.

Last Known Location:  Modesto, CA

 

All three suspects have “No Bail” warrants issued for their arrest.  These suspects are considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of these suspects should contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.

 

This investigation is continuing and the PRPD will not be providing further details to the press about the case at this time.

6/21/2013 - HOMICIDE - OCEANO, CA

The San Luis Obispo  County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with information leading to the arrest and conviction of Suspect(s) involved with the June 21, 2013, murder of Joseph Padilla.

On June 21, 2013 Joseph Padilla was located in front of a residence in the 1300 block of 19th street in Oceano CA. Padilla suffered from a knife attack and subsequently died from his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.

8/18/2012 - ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON - ATASCADERO, CA

On August 18, 2012 at approximately 9:45 PM, Atascadero Police Department officers were dispatched to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for a report of a subject who had been assaulted in the City of Atascadero earlier that night.  Officers contacted the 20-year-old male victim, who told them he was physically assaulted with an unknown object by at least one suspect, possibly three.  The incident occurred somewhere in the area of the Sunken Gardens Park in downtown Atascadero.  The victim sustained major injuries, including multiple fractures to his face.  Following the assault, the suspects took the victim’s wallet and cellular phone.

 

The three suspects are described as white males.  The primary assailant was described as being tall with dark hair.  The victim stated the suspects fled the scene in a black Pontiac.

On 05/03/12 at approximately 3:16 PM the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a 911 call regarding a male subject exiting Golden 1 Credit Union at 852 Foothill Blvd., with a gun and bag. Bank employees stated at approximately 3:15 PM a Black or dark Hispanic male entered Golden 1 Credit Union carrying a handgun and told everyone in the bank to get on the ground. The suspect then handed a plastic bag to one of the bank employees and told him to place money in the bag. The suspect then exited the bank and was last seen running northbound from Golden 1 Credit Union.

 

This past week the San Luis Obispo Police Department met with a forensic sketch artist. The forensic sketch artist worked with one of the eyewitnesses who viewed the suspect running from the area of Golden 1 Credit Union. A copy of the sketch is attached with this press release.

 

Witnesses described the suspect as a Black or dark Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall, with a stocky build. The suspect was described wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans, blue tennis shoes and had a dark shirt or bandanna partially covering his face. One witnesses observed a tattoo on his left hand, of the letters “LA”.

 

The robbery is still under investigation. 4/26/2012 - HATE CRIME - SAN LUIS OBISPO AND PISMO BEACH, CA

On April 26, 2012 and May 24, 2012, Bailey Brown, the Athletic Director of Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School in San Luis Obispo, was the victim of a hate crime that targeted her sexual orientation.  Brown, a lesbian, had her car vandalized on the morning of April 26, 2012 at her Pismo Beach residence.  Brown’s vehicle, a silver 4-door Ford Escort parked on Harloe St. in Pismo Beach, was keyed, spray painted, and four tires punctured.  On the morning of May 24, 2012, the Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School campus was vandalized in four separate areas with phrases targeting Brown and her sexual orientation.  The vandalism included spray painted phrases on the sidewalk and buildings as well as a printed note left at the door of the school’s administration office.

10/23/2011 - SUSPICIOUS DEATH INVESTIGATION

On 10/23/2011 at approximately 4:50 PM, the San Luis Obispo, CA Police Department received a 911 call regarding a male subject that appeared dead at the base of Madonna Mountain (near Lincoln and Mountain View).  Officers responded to the area and were led to the body by the reporting party.  Upon officer’s arrival, fire and medics were requested to respond to the location, at which time the male was pronounced dead.

 

Further examination of the body revealed several injuries to the face and head.  Due to the suspicious nature of the death and injuries, San Luis Obispo Police Detectives and the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Coroner responded to the location.  Currently the cause of death has not been determined and the investigation is being considered a possible homicide. 

 

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is asking for the public’s help with any information regarding suspicious activity seen or heard on the trails around Madonna Mountain.  The victim was positively identified as Charles Lavenson, who is a resident of San Luis Obispo.  Mr. Lavenson is known to be an avid walker and is often seen walking around the city and on local trails.  Lavenson was found wearing khaki pants, a button up short sleeve shirt (white with blue stripes) and brown dress shoes with white shoe laces.  Anyone who may have seen or contacted Lavenson on Sunday is asked to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

 

A plastic hotel/motel room key was found in one of Lavenson’s pockets.  Police investigators are attempting to identify the hotel/motel associated with the key.  Included are pictures of the front and back of the key.

12/30/2009 - CRUELTY TO ANIMALS - HORSE SHOOTING

San Luis Obispo County Crime Stoppers announced an INCREASE in the base reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) in the shooting death of a horse at Varian Arabians in late December. The reward has doubled from $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 and is one of the largest rewards in an animal cruelty case ever offered by the Crime Stoppers program. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff`s Rural Crime Unit are investigating the shooting death of one horse and the wounding of another at the Varian Arabians horse complex in rural Arroyo Grande. Staff heard multiple gun shots from the nearby roadway at approximately 8:30 PM Wednesday night. While checking the pasture bordering Corbett Canyon Road shortly after 7:00 AM Thursday, staff discovered one severely wounded animal and a bullet wound in a second. The first animal was euthanized by a veterinarian called to the scene, the second is being treated at the facility and is listed in serious condition. Sheriff`s rural crime unit deputies processed the scene and are asking for the publics help in identifying anyone seen near the facility at the time of the shooting.
