The Arroyo Grande Police Department is seeking the public`s assistance with the investigation of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in their City.
On January 23, 2012 at approximately 4:23 PM, a 45 year old resident of Grover Beach was walking south in the 200 block of Spruce St. in the City of Arroyo Grande. While walking on the west side of the street, the victim was shot in the head with a pellet rifle by an unknown assailant. The victim sustained moderate injuries that required transport to the Arroyo Grande Hospital by ambulance, where he was later treated and released.

***HOMICIDE - DRIVE-BY SHOOTING*** UPDATE: REWARD NOW $5000.00 ***REWARD***$5,000.00***REWARD*** The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff`s Office is investigating a homicide resulting from a drive-by shooting that occurred on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at about 6:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of 21st Street, Oceano, CA. During the shooting two male juveniles, 17 and 14 years of age, were shot. The 17 year old later died as the result of his injuries. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance with information about the crime. Occurred at a residence in the 400 Block of Dorset Street, Cambria, CA.
On 09/15/11 at 11:58 PM, Sheriff Deputies, while patrol checking the area of a vandalism reported the previous evening, were notified of a malicious mischief that had just reoccurred at the same residence. During the commission of both crimes, an unidentified suspect(s) applied spray painted anti-homosexual hate slurs to the front of the residence. Sheriff Detectives are currently investigating the vandalisms as a hate crime prohibited pursuant to Penal Code section 422.6 (as defined per PC 422.55).

| | 9/1/2011 - 1991 HOMICIDE - COLD CASE - SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA | |

On August 25, 1991, 20 year old Marina RUGGIERO, a resident of San Pedro, CA, traveled to San Luis Obispo with her family to attend the wedding of a family friend. The wedding and reception took place at the Monday Club located at 1815 Monterey, which is across the street from the Holiday Inn Express, (formerly the Cuesta Canyon Lodge) at 1800 Monterey Street.
At approximately 11:00 PM, the San Luis Obispo Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a female victim had been stabbed in room 327 at the Cuesta Canyon Lodge. Police and Fire personnel responded to the scene and located Marina RUGGIERO, who was unresponsive. EMS personnel and hospital staff were unable to revive Marina and she died that night as a result of her injuries.
San Luis Obispo Police Department investigators are looking into old and new information to solve this homicide. If you were in the area on or about August 25, 1991 and saw or heard anything unusual, please contact the investigators listed below. If your information was given to law enforcement previously, investigators would still like to discuss these details with you.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff`s Deputies are investigating a series of vandalism cases that occurred during the early morning hours on Monday, August 15, 2011 in the Highland/Manzanita area of Los Osos, CA. To date, 45 different vehicles were damaged by keying, broken windows and/or damaged tires. Deputies were summoned to the area after a person saw a window broken on a car in the 700 blk of Manzanita. Deputies found 42 vehicles damaged, leaving notes on the cars for victims to call in with their specific information. No suspects have been located.

The California Highway Patrol, San Luis Obispo Area, is investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision with injury that occurred at 4:30 pm on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the intersection of Highway 1 and Paso Robles Street in Oceano, CA. The vehicles involved were:
2009 GMC Sierra (white) with tool boxes and ladders - Suspect Vehicle
2007 Kia Rondo (white) - Victim Vehicle
The white GMC Sierra pick up was left disabled at the scene. That driver fled the scene on foot. The CHP are looking for any possible witnesses to the traffic collision or anyone that has information regarding the possible identity of the driver of the GMC Sierra pick up.

On May 12, 2011, at approximately 4:17 p.m., Department of Emergency Services responded to a fire involving two four-unit apartment buildings in the 3400 block of Park Street in Paso Robles, CA. Forty-one firefighters from Paso Robles and a number of area fire departments extinguished the fire at approximately 5:31 p.m.
Six apartment units (contained within two buildings) sustained approximately $695,250 in fire damage ($585,250 building/$110,000 contents). The value of the property saved was $718,750. The fire displaced a total of 22 residents. Those residents will not be allowed to re-occupy the buildings until substantial repairs have been completed.
Fire investigators surveyed the fire scene and interviewed a number of witnesses. They determined the fire began in an area behind a dumpster located between two fences. The dumpster was positioned at the rear of the apartment building sustaining the greatest damage.
Fire investigators were unable to determine the material first ignited or the heat source, but were able to rule out most accidental causes. The fire was found to be suspicious in nature. Fire investigators seek the assistance of people who may have witnessed the very early stages of the fire, saw people in the area prior to the fire, or otherwise possess information regarding the fire.

On March 30, 2011 at approximately 10:28 pm, Officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to the Shell Gas Station located at 8000 Morro Road in the City of Atascadero to a report of an armed robbery
When officers arrived on the scene they met with the store clerk who told them that the suspect had fled the business on foot south bound toward Morro Road after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers immediately conducted a search of the surrounding area and were unable to locate the suspect. According to the clerk and video obtained at the business, the suspect entered the business with his hooded sweatshirt covering his head and was wearing a white baseball type hat under the hood. He had a black bandana covering his face and was wearing sunglass. When he entered the business he immediately pointed what appeared to be a silver revolver type handgun at the clerk and motioned toward the register. Fearing for her life the clerk opened the register and the suspect removed the money from the drawer. After obtaining the cash, the suspect then fled the business on foot south bound toward Morro Road.
Suspect:
Male, unknown race, in his early twenties. He was described as being between 5’07” to 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with colored graphics on it, blue jeans, and white sneakers with black colored tips. The suspect had the hood up covering his head and was wearing a white baseball type hat under the hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana over his face. He was also wearing sunglasses. The suspect was armed with a silver colored revolver type handgun.

On February 26, 2011 at approximately 7:04 PM, Officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts, located at 7470 El Camino Real, in the City of Atascadero to a report of an armed robbery
When officers arrived they spoke with the store clerk who told them that two suspects had entered the business and produced handguns. The suspects demanded money from the clerk and the clerk complied. The suspects fled the business on foot after taking an undisclosed about of money. Officers had established a perimeter of the area in an effort to contain the suspects. A thorough search was conducted utilizing the Atascadero Police Department’s K9 unit, but the suspects could not be located. The Atascadero Police Department Detectives, along with a Crime Scene Investigator, were called to the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
Suspects:
Suspect #1: white male adult, early 20’s, 6’0”, 140 lbs, grey hooded pullover sweatshirt, dark pants with “skater” type shoes. The suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
Suspect #2: white male adult, early 20’s, 5’6”, 140 lbs, dark hooded pullover sweatshirt, brown knit cap, blue jeans and “skater” type shoes. The suspect was armed with a small black handgun.

On February 22, 2011, at approximately 1:08am, Officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to the Shell Gas Station located at 8000 Morro Road in the City of Atascadero to a report of an armed robbery.
When officers arrived on the scene they met with the store clerk who told them that the suspect had fled the business on foot west bound on Morro Road after obtaining approximately $250.00 in cash. Officers immediately conducted a search of the surrounding area and utilized the Atascadero Police Department’s K9 unit, which tracked the suspect to the area of Santa Ynez and Morro Road before losing the suspect’s scent. According to the clerk and video obtained at the business, the suspect entered the business with his hooded sweatshirt turned inside out and the hood covering his head. He had a white bandana covering his face except for his eyes that had some type of black graphics on it. The hooded sweatshirt had a black fleece lining and a white tag on the back between the shoulders and appeared to be a light grayish color on the outside. When he entered the business he immediately pointed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun at the clerk and demanded the money from the register. After obtaining the cash, the suspect then fled the business on foot west bound on Morro Road.
Suspect:
Male, Hispanic in his late teens to early twenties. He was described as being between 5’08” to 6’00” tall with a thin build weighing between 125 lbs to 150 lbs. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt turned inside out exposing the black fleece like lining and dark blue jeans and had a white bandana with black graphics on it covering his face. The suspect had the hood up covering his head. The suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun described as possibly a “Glock” because of its box like shape.

The California Highway Patrol, San Luis Obispo Area, is investigating a fatal hit and run collision which occurred in the Nipomo area of San Luis Obispo County.
On February 01, 2011, at between 5:00 am and 6:00 am, a female pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle near the driveway of 696 Joshua Road, located in San Luis Obispo County between Orchard Road and Hutton Road.
The California Highway Patrol is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, observed a person walking or standing along Joshua Road at this location, or talked with someone who may have information regarding the collision. We are also asking local paint / body shops or vehicle repair businesses to notify us if they see, hear, or have anyone inquire about repairing a vehicle which they believe could have been involved in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision.

| | 10/30/2010 - San Luis Obispo Police Investigate Large Theft From PG&E Service Yard | ****REWARD****$1,000.00****REWARD****
The San Luis Obispo Police Department is investigating a theft from the PG&E Service Center in the 4300 block of South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo. Some time between 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, and 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, October 31, unknown subjects entered the yard by cutting a lock on a gate. The subjects then stole a PG&E truck, numerous tools, a generator, and over 4,400 pounds of copper wire on heavy spools. Police believe more than one individual and vehicle were used in the theft.

On Sunday August 29, 2010 between 3:00 am and 4:15 am, a Pismo Beach Police Department Patrolman discovered unknown subject(s) had committed acts of vandalism and destruction at ten different locations through the 300 to 1500 block of Shell Beach Road. Damage estimates at this time are around $1500. The subject(s) pushed over large cement trash bins, ripped out irrigation lines, damaged planters, and damaged benches throughout that stretch of Shell Beach Road. The large cement trash bins had been hand painted and decorated by local artists who donated their time and materials.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff`s Department is again warning people to not leave valuables in their cars after a $25,000.00 theft on Wednesday at the Park & Ride site on Hwy 58 near Hwy 101 in Santa Margarita, CA. A woman had hidden a bag containing cash from her business receipts and the sale of a car under the seat of her vehicle while she and her husband went to a movie. When the pair returned to the vehicle they discovered a window smashed, the bag of money missing, along with uniform items from the California Department of Corrections. Deputies recovered some physical evidence from the crime scene, however are asking for the publics help in tracking the lost uniforms or identifying the person(s) who may have an unusual amount of spending money. Over the last 90 days the county has been plagued by a large number of auto burglaries from Nipomo to San Miguel. Several arrests have been made, however the problem continues. The summer months are traditionally a time when auto burglaries increase. People travel more and tend to leave valuables in their cars unattended in parking areas and outside their homes. | | 3/10/2010 - RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY | ***$5,000.00 REWARD***
On March 10, 2010, Officers from the Atascadero Police Department were sent to a residence in the 5000 block of Fresno Avenue in Atascadero regarding a possibly burglary incident. Upon their arrival, they spoke to the resident who had just returned home. When she arrived home, the victim saw that her front door was wide open. Officers searched the home and found that it was unoccupied; however, officers saw that force had been used to break a rear bedroom window.
The suspect(s) entered the home and the garage between the hours of 10 A.M and 8 P.M. on March 10th. The suspect(s) were specific in the property that they wanted to take. The suspect(s) located a safe in a home office area and pushed the safe on the safe’s rollers to the front door of the house. Using a furniture dolly that they took out of the garage, they moved the very heavy safe out of the house and to an awaiting vehicle.
It was later determined that the safe that was stolen contained approximately $180,000 in gold coins, $10,000 in jewelry, and $8,000 in cash. Anyone that has information regarding the suspect’s identity is urged to call the Atascadero Police Department.
